Initiative Status
Health-RI Semantic Interoperability Initiative: discontinued
The Health-RI Semantic Interoperability Initiative was formally paused on May 1, 2026 and has since been discontinued.
No further development, curation, community review, or release activity is planned under this initiative.
Archival status
The documentation site, repository history, released semantic artifacts, publications, and persistent identifiers remain available as archival resources for reference, reuse, and citation.
These resources are not actively maintained. In particular:
- no new HRIO, HRIV, SSSOM mapping-set, or project-documentation releases are planned;
- the documented governance, validation, contribution, and publication procedures are retained as records of the processes used during the initiative and are no longer operational;
- contribution and community-review workflows are closed;
- known limitations in released artifacts may remain unresolved.
Persistent identifiers and citations
Existing w3id persistent identifiers remain the stable access points for published resources. Unversioned or latest identifiers now resolve to the final available published artifacts and are not expected to advance under this initiative.
For reproducible citations, continue to prefer version-specific identifiers and release-specific DOIs where available.
Historical timeline
- May 1, 2026 — the initiative was formally paused.
